As 2022 draws to a close, we’re delighted to announce that we have exceeded our target of raising £200,000 to purchase our own office. This is a real milestone in the development of the Marxist tendency. Thank you to all that have contributed!
After an incredible year of campaigning, we are delighted to announce that we have surpassed our target of raising £200,000 to purchase our own office. This is a testament to the enormous sacrifice of our supporters, who have really stepped up to make this campaign a success.
This campaign could not have come at a more important time. 2022 will be remembered as a turning point in world history, with the deepening crisis of capitalism resulting in inflation, war, and recessions across the world.
Instability and crisis are wracking all levels of society – economically, socially, and politically. Enormous class struggles have erupted all over the world, from Kazakhstan, to Sri Lanka; from Iran, to Peru.
Britain is no exception, having had two new prime ministers in the space of a few months. And with millions pushed to the brink by the cost-of-living catastrophe, workers have responded with an inspiring strike wave, involving hundreds of thousands on the move.
These struggles are just the prelude to further turbulence and instability in the coming years. After decades of relative lull, the class struggle is heating up. And since the ruling class has no answers except further austerity, conditions are being prepared for social explosions everywhere.
It is therefore vital that the Marxist tendency is prepared for these events in advance. Having our own office, with space to expand our apparatus, will provide us with crucial stability, in a world wracked by crisis.
We are therefore pleased to announce that we have successfully met our target of raising £200,000 to put towards purchasing our own headquarters in London.
Revolutionary sacrifice
Since we launched our campaign in April, we have received pledges and donations totalling an incredible £203,346.
We would like to thank all our supporters who have contributed to this fantastic achievement. We have been blown away by the level of sacrifice that so many of you have made.
For example, we are aware of unemployed supporters making donations of over £100, which in these conditions is a real stretch. We know that 230 supporters made contributions of £250 or more, and 38 have given more than £1,000.
Two anonymous supporters have even donated sums of £10,000 or more, which is an incredible sacrifice.
All these contributions are proof of the confidence of our supporters in the ideas of genuine Marxism, and in the victory of the world socialist revolution to come.
To everyone who has contributed to this campaign – no matter how large or small – we extend our deepest thanks.
And to anyone who has been inspired by this campaign, but is yet to donate, there is still time. All contributions – even modest amounts – will further strengthen our position to meet the needs of the future.
Being able to take this important step will make a massive difference in our ability to make an impact on the revolutionary events that are unfolding in front of us, in Britain and internationally.
