The following are the terms and conditions relating to subscriptions to the Socialist Appeal newspaper, In Defence of Marxism magazine, or digital versions of these publications. Please read these before subscribing to any of our publications.
By subscribing to any of our publications, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
1) Auto Renewal
Your Subscription Period is detailed in your order summary (either Annual or Monthly). You will be charged the amount for your initial period today. At the end of each subscription period, your subscription will automatically renew and you will be charged at the then prevailing rate for each subscription period.
If there are any changes to the amount and frequency of your payment, Left Publications Ltd will notify you at least two weeks in advance of payment being taken.
For the time being, an ‘Annual’ subscription period is equivalent to 20 issues of the Socialist Appeal, and where appropriate, 4 issues of the In Defence of Marxism magazine. We reserve the right to increase these publication schedules, in which case the amount of your payment will increase in accordance with the terms above.
2) Cancellations
You may cancel your auto renewal (and with it your Subscription) at any time either by:
- cancelling your Direct Debit instruction with your bank;
- for International (PayPal) subscriptions, cancelling your automatic renewal by logging into your PayPal account; or
- contacting subscribe@socialist.net – in which case please allow two working days for your cancellation request to be processed.
Refunds:
Initial cancellation period: You have the right to cancel your Subscription, without giving any reason, within a 14-day period from the day on which you receive the first publication forming part of your Subscription. If you exercise your right to cancel within that period, then we will reimburse all payments received from you, less a pro-rated amount for each publication you received before cancelling.
Subsequent cancellation of your subscription: Cancellations notified to us after the 14-day initial cancellation period are not entitled to a refund. The cancellation will take effect at the end of your Subscription period.
3) Delivery
Dispatch: We aim to dispatch your first issue within two working days of placing your order. Print editions are sent to UK addresses by First Class post, which should arrive within 1 to 2 working days.
Airmail deliveries overseas will be subject to the usual delivery times to your destination, usually 3 to 5 working days to Europe, and 6 to 7 working days outside Europe.
4) Privacy
Your personal information will be kept private and held securely. By submitting information you are agreeing to the use of data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
